DEWORMING PROTOCOL

Gastrointestinal parasitism is a common health problem in horses. Parasites can produce a variety of damage depending on the type and number of parasites present and the immune status of the horse. Problems associated with parasitic infections include diarrhea, weight loss, colic, poor growth and unthriftness. Virtually all horses are infected with parasites. Although we can not completely eliminate parasitic infections, implementation of a sound deworming program will limit exposure.

RECOMMENDED VACCINATION GUIDELINES
A vaccination program depends on many variables (age, infectious exposure risks, sex and pregnancy status) and should be tailored to fit your horse with the help of your veterinarian. In addition, good management plays a key role in ensuring the health, well-being, and performance of your horse, for example, insect control (mosquitoes, ticks and flies) and avoidance of any contagious disease by isolating new or sick horses.
