February 7 : Zoonotic Disease
with Dr. Barbara Jones

What can I get from my horse and what can my horse get from other horses?  Zoonotic and infectious diseases every horse owner should know about – and how to prevent them. The lecture will cover diseases horses can give (transmit) to people as well as what diseases horses can get from other horses. The lecture session will finish with a discussion on ways to prevent the diseases discussed.

February 21 : Equine Dentistry: More Than Just Floating!
with Dr. Paula Valeria
Your horse's health depends on good dental care. An overview of the teeth and how they function will be explained as well at common problems and their correction. We hope you will leave with a good picture of how the teeth function and change as the horse ages.

February 28 : Regenerative Medicine
with Dr. Adam Leininger

What is regenerative medicine and how does it work? What injuries would I use regenerative medicine on, and what types of treatments are available?

March 6 : The Equine Physical Exam
with Dr. Kate Schulz
Looking into the colic, respiratory, optical, and musculo-skelatal exams, reviewing the steps, and discussing what might follow in treatment and diagnostics. (wetlab)

March 13 : What is involved in a Lameness Exam?
with Dr. Rob Blohowiak
Watch a lames exam being preformed, what is the significance of the flexion test? Is my horse lame on a front or hind limb? Several videos will be shown showcasing both fore and hind limb lameness. Can you pick the lame leg? (wetlab/videos)
