  Robert Blohowiak, DVM, CVSMTRobert Blohowiak, DVM, CVSMT
Dr. Blohowiak is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an equine internship at the Wisconsin Equine Clinic & Hospital in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and then stayed on as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Blohowiak is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association and is an international instructor for the Healing Oasis Veterinary Hospital and Wellness Center. Dr. Blohowiak purchased Great Lakes Equine Wellness Center in September 2006. His special interests include veterinary chiropractic, acupuncture, lameness, performance enhancement and prepurchase examinations. In his free time, Dr. Rob raises and trains barrel racing horses and competes internationally. He enjoys singing, and along with his wife Mary, belongs to the Dudley Birder Chorale. Dr. Rob has 3 boys – Noah, Jonah, and Joshua (Fin).

Paula Valeria, DVMPaula Valeria, DVM
Dr. Valeria is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an equine internship at Lake Country Equine Center (now Wisconsin Equine Clinic & Hospital) in Oconomowoc, WI before coming to northeast Wisconsin to do ambulatory equine practice. Dr. Valeria started Bay Meadow Equine (formerly Abrams Veterinary Service) after the closure of the practice in which she was employed. She has been providing quality equine veterinary care to horses in the greater Green Bay area for over a decade. Dr. Valeria enjoys all aspects of equine practice particularly preventative medicine, reproduction and client education. When not practicing veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time at home with her husband, Scott, and their children Rachael, Ashley, Zachary and Grace, as well as the family's horses, donkey, dogs and cats.

Barbara Jones, DVMBarbara Jones, DVM
Dr. Barbara Jones, who grew up in Wisconsin, spent some time in Australia at a racetrack practice. It was there she realized her interest in equine medicine and decided to go to vet school. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (West Indies) and spent her clinical year at Cornell University (New York). After relocating to the Fox Cities with her fiance, a veterinary ophthalmologist at Fox Valley Animal Referrel Center, she plans to get a horse or two and start competing in  dressage or jumping. Dr. Barbara and her fiance, Keith, enjoy adventure ultramarathons in remote areas of the world. Dr. Jones has two Great Danes, two Boston Terriers and a Rag Doll cat.

Kate Schulz, VMDKate Schulz, VMD
Dr. Schulz is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  She always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian, and began focusing on horses in college, spending her summers in Montana with an ambulatory equine veterinarian and learning some dressage.  She recently completed an equine internship at the École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (ENVA) in Paris France.  The internship included 6 months of rotations in medicine, surgery and emergency and 6 months with at a lameness and diagnostic imaging referral center where she focused on her special interests in lameness and imaging. In her spare time she enjoys most outside activities including snowboarding, ice skating and rock climbing. She and her cat, Emily, have recently moved to the Fox River area.

Adam Leininger, DVMAdam Leininger, DVM
Dr. Leininger is a 2007 graduate of The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation Dr. Leininger completed a one year surgical internship at the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY. During his internship he assisted with over 1200 surgeries, gained experience in sales imaging and evaluation, and worked with sport horse medicine in lameness diagnostics and treatment. Once the internship was completed he practiced as an ambulatory associate with Crum Equine Veterinary Services located in Lancaster, OH. While working at Crum Equine, Dr. Leininger spent a majority of his time working with race horses and sport horses. Dr. Leininger has an interest in lameness, diagnostic imaging, podiatry, and surgery. When not working Dr. Leininger enjoys spending time with his wife Erin, a pharmacist for Target and a Wisconsin native, and their new son Reed. He has two dogs Dutch and Ariel, and two horses Beau and Missle. He enjoys renovation projects and wood work, and hopes to find an old Wisconsin farm and restore the house and barn. Dr. Leininger looks forward to Badger and Packer football games, but will always cheer for his beloved Buckeyes and Bengals.

Kristin HamiltonKristin Hamilton
Kristin was born and grew up in Neenah, WI. She graduated from Neenah High school. A few years later she graduated from Bel-Rea Institute for veterinary technician training in Denver, CO. She has been working at Great Lakes Equine Wellness Center since February of 2005. She doesn’t have any horses of her own but has taken lessons and currently rides her friend’s horses when the opportunity exists. When Kristin isn’t working she is busy teaching her dog new tricks and training her for agility, flyball, and Frisbee competition. She also shoots darts once a week.

Ari Michelle MastersAri Michelle Masters
Ari’s home town is Kaukauna, Wisconsin where she has lived since the age 4 after returning from living abroad in Sydney, Australia.  She is 2006 graduate of Kaukauna High School.  Ari is currently completing her degree in Veterinary Technology with her graduation set for the summer of 2012. She joined us in December of 2011. Ari has been riding horses since the age of 3 and has successfully shown her horses by winning the titles of Grand Champion at Halter with her grandmothers Hackney Pony – Dreams Come True and Reserve Grand Champion with her Arabian Mare – SF Chardonnay.  Ari also has 3 dogs, 2 cats and a Hedgehog. Ari is an avid Green Bay Packer fan and when isn’t riding her horse you can find most days playing with her dogs. Ari and her future husband Jeremy plan on living in the Hortonville/Greenville area.  

Katie BrucksKatie Brucks
At the age of 10, Katie began riding dressage under the instruction of Pat Heeg at Prairieview Farm in Greenville. After graduating from Neenah High she attended the University of Minnesota–Crookston. While studying in Crookston she rode on both the western/reining team and hunter/jumper team. In the spring of 2005 she was placed 10th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association in western equitation at the national competition. Her final year in college she coached the UMC Hunter/Jumper team and taught the lab portions of equine reproduction techniques and equine production. In December 2005, she graduated from Crookston with a Bachelor of Science in Equine Industries Management. She is also a certified equine sports massage therapist. Katie began working at Great Lakes Equine Wellness Center in January 2006 as the Inventory Manager. Outside of work Katie teaches riding lessons and adores spending time with her two sons and husband on their farm in Neenah.

Heather ThornHeather Thorn
Heather is our Human Resource Manager originally from Horicon. She went to college at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls (UWRF) where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science – Science Option with an Equine Emphasis. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree she decided one degree wasn’t enough and went back to UWRF to pursue her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Psychology with a Business Emphasis. While attending UWRF, Heather was very active in Psi Chi (a Psychology honor society), the Rodeo Team and the Colts in Training classes offered through the school. In her spare time she enjoys riding her 30-year-old Quarter Horse, Chip, and spending time outdoors with her husband and stepdaughter.

Jordon VeithJordan Veith
Jordan has been riding since age 3 and found her passion for horses while living in Colorado. She brought her 3 geldings (her “boys”) and a mini donkey with her when her family moved to Larsen in 2007. She loves speed jumping her horse, Weedy, as well as riding her others around the meadows at her farm. After graduating from Winneconne High School, Jordan realized her calling is to become an equine veterinarian. She is currently attending UW-Fox Valley for Pre-Vet and intends on going to UW-Madison to get her DVM. In her down time, she spends time riding and grooming her “boys”, reading books, and doing yoga.
