Services: Surgery
Our
surgical stall is fully padded with a hydraulic lift
table. There is a gas anesthesia machine equipped with
isoflurane and extensive anesthesia monitoring equipment
including (electrocardiogram aka EKG, pulse oximetry,
direct arterial blood pressure monitoring). Examples
of surgeries performed at GLEWC include but are not
limited to castrations, laceration repairs, cryptorchid
castrations, hernia repairs, check ligament desmotomies,
periosteal strips, transphyseal bridging, enucleations, & conjunctival
grafts for the treatment of corneal ulcers. Board Certified Surgeon,
Courtney Bolam, DVM, DVSc, DACVS, of the Wisconsin Equine
Clinic & Hospital, travels to GLEWC monthly to
perform elective surgeries and consult on potential
surgical conditions.
